About The Space

The Clemson University Immersive Space features a variety of virtual and augmented reality headsets to help students, faculty and researches develop projects for VR. The space was successfully funded by the Information Technology Student Advisory Board and is operated in partnership with Clemson University's VR Club. If you're interested in learning about development for VR, stop by the space, located at Room 203 in the Watt Family Innovation Center.

The Clemson VR Club serves to prepare students for the evolving visualization needs of our society. In addition to making virtual reality technology accessible in the Immersive Space, we host weekly meetings for the student VR community at Clemson. Join us on Thursday nights for industry speakers, development workshops, and plenty of games -- no experience required. Clemson students can join our membership roster to receive frequent updates on VR happenings around the university.

CCIT Visualization
"Our mission is to help researchers gain keen insight into complex data sets by equipping them with tools and resources to visualize the expected and discover the unexpected in their data. We aim to develop and maintain a mechanism to advance knowledge about visualization techniques and cyberinfrastructure resources to further advance scholarly activity."

IT Student Advisory Board
"The IT Student Advisory board is a governance group comprised of undergraduate and graduate students from across the colleges at Clemson University. The board’s main purpose is to provide feedback to the CIO and CCIT senior Staff on business and strategic decisions, but we also have the unique opportunity to drive 10% of the student IT fees towards IT related projects and initiatives. In the past, this 10% has led to the funding of projects ranging from mobile development to the purchasing of new printers and other technologies in the library and academic buildings across campus."
Network for Innovation and Marketable Skills
"The Clemson Network for Innovation and Marketable Skills seeks to connect students with resources they might not be aware of. Clemson has so many amazing groups, clubs, shops and opportunities that it's hard to keep track of them all. That's where we come in; your one-stop-shop for all things making, learning and playing at Clemson."
Clemson Makerspace
"The Clemson Makerspace exists on campus to help undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff members take their ideas from concept to prototyping. It is a space for individuals to collaborate on projects and use machines that are too expensive or large for any one person to reasonably afford. Makerspace technicians are available, but training is required before individuals may use the printers without assistance."
Digital Media and Learning Lab
"The Digital Media and Learning labs at Clemson University's College of Education are innovative, 21st century spaces created to connect students, teachers, researchers, and partners to ideas and projects in physical and virtual environments. Participate in projects, print 3D objects, play and research games, or simply by hang out in the lab with friends!"
Virtual Reality Classroom Pilot
"Clemson faculty and students can help to define the future of our classrooms! Obtain access to equipment, software, and expertise to experiment with how you can bring virtual reality into your course through lectures, activities, and assignments."
